Inner Wheel of Romsey Test was formed in 1992 and now has 37 members.
Our club is part of the Association of Inner Wheel Clubs in Great Britain and a member of District 11, which is made up of 35 other Inner Wheel clubs in Hampshire, Dorset, Wiltshire and the Channel islands.
The objects of all Inner Wheel club’s are to promote true friendship, encourage the ideals of personal service and foster international understanding.
We are a friendly and active group of ladies who meet on the first Monday in the month, when a speaker joins us for an evening meal at the White Horse in Romsey.
We organise walks, theatre trips and other social activities. Through our District Inner Wheel, we visit other local clubs and take part in inter club golf and skittles competitions.
Each year our club does fund raising and this year we will be supporting Southampton General Hospital’s Red and White appeal, Romsey Abbeyfield and the National Osteoporosis Society . As well as this an event will be organised for our over sea’s charity the Philippine Community fund.
We also work closely with Rotary and their fundraising and community events, at the Mayor’s Picnic in July, Walk the Test Way in October, collecting shoeboxes at Christmas and providing teas at Reminiscences of Romsey in March.
